itsyourphoto.com Wednesday, April 14, 2010 at 13:23 itsyourphoto.com is a website of a local Edmonton photographer who goes to clubs and special events to take pictures of the people attending. All of his pictures were on Flickr, so with a new site, it was necessary to tie into the Flickr API in order to display the photos on the new site. Challenges such as this made the project much more enjoyable. We were able to update his site and he can continue to put all of the photos on Flickr without the end user realizing there not actually hosted on the website. Check out the site to see all of the beautiful photos produced by this talented photographer. P.S. My favorite is the one of Colbert.
Edmonton Christian Soccer League Monday, January 25, 2010 at 14:58 The ECSL is a local soccer league which needed a stronger web presence in order to provide up to date information to the players and fans of the league. Previously, the website was a simple HTML website which had to update all of the statistics manually. Miktek built a brand new site incorporating a database to automate functionality that was previously completed through manual means. The website allows the public to view statistics, schedule information as well as basic player information. Team representatives can log in to manage their team. They can manage their roster, print players cards even print the gamesheets which record the results of each game. League administrators can manage all aspects of the league from and easy to use interface. Future improvements will include an automatic scheduler and integration with Facebook and Twitter.
Capital Region Board Thursday, October 01, 2009 at 16:01 Alberta's Capital Region Board(CRB) was officially established on April 15, 2008, and consists of mayors from 25 municipalities in the Alberta Capital Region. A new website was required for the CRB and one requirement was that the site run a Content Management system. After researching some options, the choice was made to go with Joomla. Joomla is a powerful, widely used, open-source content management system that gives the CRB staff the ability to keep their content up to date. Miktek worked closely with Hollow Dog Consulting to design and implement the website.
